As a parent/caregiver of an infant or child, you want to be prepared for emergency situations - or better yet, prevent them. Join us with Safe Beginning, in this 2hr workshop designed to help you know what to do if your infant/child stops breathing, goes unconscious or begins to choke. Learn how to prevent potentially dangerous situations, in the company of other parents and caregivers.

Baby massage is a great way to give comfort to your baby and reinforce healthy bonding. In this parent-baby workshop, you will be guided through basic techniques you can use at home to help your baby relieve tummy troubles, aid digestion, encourage sleep and develop body awareness. RMT Nicole will also show you self-massage techniques to address common areas of concern that arise when caring for a baby. Open discussion on supports and self-care will follow, along with resources. Parents are welcome to stay for snacks and socializing to close the workshop.

About Nicole
Nicole graduated from the West Coast College of massage therapy in 2006. She has a special interest in women’s health and is passionate about providing treatment to women during the pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum period. She does however provide treatments to all genders of all ages! Nicole often treats whole families including kids, as they can benefit just as much from massage therapy.
Nicole feels that therapeutic needs do not only vary from person to person, but from day to day. She offers a variety of massage treatments to help you with variations in pressure, techniques, areas of focus and desired outcome

Please note: this workshop may be best suited for babies who are able to lay down for small period of time. Babies with advanced mobility are welcome, however it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure baby's safety and the safety of others.

Notes for workshop:

Participants are asked to dress in comfortable clothing and dress baby in clothes that allow for easy-access to baby's torso and legs (such as a snap/button onesie).

Please bring a yoga mat or thick blanket for laying your baby on the floor. Extra mats will be available for those who do not have one.

Please bring a small amount of a food-grade topical oil that you know your baby's skin can tolerate without sensitivity or allergic reaction (coconut oil, olive oil, grapeseed oil are common choices).

A half-day, in-person retreat for those struggling to conceive and/or undergoing fertility treatments. Engage in therapeutic arts activities designed to de-stress and decrease feelings of isolation. Learn about resources and add tools to your toolbox to cope with wherever you may be within your fertility journey. Participate to your comfort level within a confidential and non-judgmental setting.
